Junior Surf Achievement Awards

The Achievement Awards programme is an integral part of our Junior Activity Programme. The Programme is based on a clearly defined structure and outcomes to aid the children’s life saving development.

All juniors are able to gain their respective Achievement Award for their age group during the season. Listed below is the Achievement Award listing per age group, more detail is available in the ‘Surf Education Instructors Guide’ or from the Junior Manager.

• Under 8 Level 1
• Under 9 Level 2
• Under 10 Level 3
• Under 11 Level 4
• Under 12 Level 5

200m Safety Award

For safety and development reasons, all junior participants, 9yrs and over, who want to compete for our Club in Water events must successfully complete their 200m Safety Award each year. This involves a 200m timed pool swim and 1 minute floating, all to be completed within our targeted 7 minutes.

The 200m Safety Award is required to be completed prior to the season under Club supervision. Dates and times have been arranged by the Club, please check the Juniors Calendar for details.

All Waimairi Juniors are requested to complete their proficiencies at the dates and times scheduled by the Club.
