Waimairi Beach – originally Waimaero. (Waimaero – deep water channel – the name given to a stream where Maori warriors and travellers were baptised before they journeyed north).

Waimairi is a strong surf life saving club both in its life guarding and surf sports.  We have enjoyed many successful patrol efficiency tests as well as some excellent results at the local and national carnivals throughout the years.  We have a proud record of no deaths by drowning between our flags.
